Born and bred in Texas, Chef Harvey Harris grew up around food — wholesome, delicious food, cooked with love.
After a career as a young sous chef and chef de cuisine working in a number of high-end and high-profile restaurants in his home state, he decided to travel to Italy where he enrolled at the prestigious Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, the “I C I F” as it is known, in Costigliole d’Asti, Piedmont, in the heart of wine country.
Upon completion of his studies, he headed south to Tuscany, where he was awarded an externship at one of the region’s top dining destinations, Ristorante il Pino.
It was there that Chef Harvey perfected his master of true Tuscan cuisine.
Upon his return to his home more than ten years ago, he partnered with veteran restaurateur Stan Adams to create Siena Ristorante Toscano, authentic Tuscan dining in Austin, inspired by their independent travels in Tuscany and their passion for Italian cuisine, wine, and culture.
Wholesome ingredients, authentic recipes, traditional wine pairings, and vast gastronomic experience are the guiding principles that have made Chef Harvey’s kitchen one of the top fine dining destinations in central Texas for more than ten years.
