We are thrilled to share Chef Harvey’s menu (click here to view) for this spectacular vertical guided tasting of Brunello di Montalcino with Altesino brand ambassador Lorenzo Gucci.

Here at Siena, there is no wine that we love more than Brunello di Montalcino, made form 100 percent Sangiovese grapes grown in the heart of Siena province, one of the world’s most famous and most collected wines.

Altesino is one of the appellation’s most acclaimed wineries and we can’t think of a better way to start off the fall season of wine dinners than with one of Siena’s greatest wines and wineries.

A note on Lorenzo Gucci, brand ambassador for Altesino:

Born in Florence, Italy.

Completing an exchange program in high school at the International School of Cape town, S. Africa and three-year bachelor degree (BBA) at the European School of Economics involved studying of Marketing, Management and Business in different countries (Spain, Italy) has allowed me not only to acquire an international perspective of these subjects but also to enhance my flexibility, adaptation and language skills. During my BBA I’ve put my acquired knowledge into practice by doing two internships with two major companies operating in the luxury good industry: Marchesi Antinori and Hermes Italie.

Working as a Sales Associate Intern at Hermes Italie was an eye opening experience, which made me aware of what exactly providing outstanding customer service requires. I worked alongside the store manager to maintain high standards of merchandising and replenishing of sales floors and to ensure customer satisfaction at any time by providing assistance, advice as well as dressing and fashion tips. All of these activities greatly helped me hone my interpersonal skills as well as develop a customer-focused mindset.

Working for Marchesi Antinori, has provided me greatly value with a totally different set of skills and allowed me to test and further develop my research abilities. As a junior analyst in Strategy and Development Department my main responsibility was to conduct market research aimed at identifying new target market opportunities for the food and wine sectors. I also carried out marketing research to analyze and monitor acquired customers’ behavior and identify the relative value of clients to the organization. At the same time, I was tasked with researching the impact of e-commerce on the wine industry with the final aim of gaining deeper insight into how to improve the company’s e-business strategy.

After completing my studies and have been fascinated and interested by the wine sector. I decide to join Altesino with the position of Junior Marketing & Sales Manager.

Recently I became the Export Manger at Altesino Spa. Nowadays, I manage, enhance, develop and implement business activities (marketing mix) for worldwide markets (USA, Canada, Europe, Oceania, Asia, Italy) with specific focus on the US and Canada.
 Act as brand ambassador, representing the brand with customers, consumers, press and key opinion leaders (Event, tasting and Markets visits).
 Analyze customer potentiality, sales figures and product performance among segments/clients. 
Make sure communication activities and brand-messages are in line with brand strategy. Support the Export Director in defining the company’s strategic orientation choices and managing Allocations.

During my 2/3 years at Altesino, I’ve decided in order to increase my knowledge of the business, to attend the WSET “wine and spirit education trust” courses in Milan, Italy.
