Siena Ristorante Toscana is thrilled to announce our first wine dinner for 2016: “Allegrini, the Wines of Romeo and Juliet with top somm Kim Wood” (see his bio below).

On Wednesday, February 3, leading sommelier Kim Wood (formerly of Jean Georges Steakhouse in Las Vegas) will be pouring the legendary wines of Allegrini from Verona, where Romeo once wooed Juliet.

Wines, menu, and registration details to follow. So please stay tuned!

Born and raised in Texas, Kim Wood attended John Hopkins University and was studying biomedical engineering and finance when a part time job at a local bar sparked his interest in wine. He fell in love with the restaurant industry and shift his studies to wine and beverage are relocated back to Dallas. Where he worked for a Wine Spectator Grand Award winning wine program Pappas Bros. Steakhouse and began the intense education of the Court of Master Sommeliers. Working closely with a number of Master Sommeliers, Kim passed received his Advanced Certification in October of 2008, shortly thereafter he relocated to Las Vegas to open Jean Georges Steakhouse in Aria Resort and Casino as a sommelier. Quickly ascending to the position of Lead Sommelier, he began to pursue his Master Sommelier Diploma passing two of three portions. In May of 2013 Kim took on the role for Director of wine for the hotel where he oversaw 26 food and beverage outlets, 7 achieving the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. He has contributed to wine programs of two James Beard award winning Chef’s and has helmed wine lists noted for being Top 100 in the Nation by Food and Wine Magazine. His dedication to the beverage industry, commitment to perfection, and creative talent led him to his current role with LUX Wines where he is able to partner with some of the most sought after wines around the world and continue to share his passion for them.
