What’s Chef Harvey growing in his garden? Edible flowers!
Even with the rain Central Texas got right around Memorial Day, it’s been a long, arid summer in Austin.
That’s made it a challenge to grow fruit and vegetables in his garden, says Chef Harvey, who usually sources a lot of his produce and herbs from his own fence plot on the grounds of the restaurant.
But one thing he never has any trouble growing is his bachelor’s buttom flowers (above). They thrive in the heat even without water.
He loves to use them as decorations on all kinds of dishes and the best part is that they are edible!
