Robert Parker 90+ points for Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio 2003-2009
Above: The famous Cerequio (cheh-REH-qoo’ee-oh) vineyard in the heart of Barolo. The Chiarlo family has recently completed construction of a luxury resort hotel in the center of the vineyard.
From 2003-2009, the single-vineyard designated Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio has received a score of 90 or above from Robert Parker, Jr.’s Wine Advocate for every vintage released by the winery (in 2002, because of an excessively rainy vintage, the wine was not produced).
The 2010 has not yet been rated but most wine industry insiders expect the release to be yet another “best hit” by the celebrated producer of Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d’Asti, Gavi, and Moscato d’Asti.
Current generation winemaker Alberto Chiarlo will be pouring the 2010 Barolo Cerequio at the sold-out Sassicaia/Barolo dinner at Siena Ristorante Toscana on Monday, September 16.
