Benvenuto Brunello – Welcome Brunello!

When Siena owner Stan Adams first decided to open and build what would become Austin’s most popular and long-lived Italian restaurants, he took his inspiration from the classic Tuscan farmhouses that he visited in the province of Siena, Italy.
He had traveled to the picturesque medieval hilltop town of Montalcino, where one of the world’s most famous wines is made: Brunello di Montalcino.
Every year in February, the winemakers in Montalcino present their new vintages to the press and to the public at an event called Benvenuto Brunello – Welcome Brunello.
The event began yesterday in Montalcino and lasts through Monday, with private and public tastings, countryside festivities, and wine dinners in the cellars of all the great producers — where some of their oldest bottles of this long-lived wine are poured for the lucky guests.
Here at Siena Ristorante Toscana, we have 8 wines from Montalcino on our list. They are part of our Tuscan wine portfolio — one of the most substantial in Austin and in our humble opinion, the best selection of Tuscan wines in the River City.
