Castello d’Albola 2007 Chianti Classico
Wine Spectator Magazine said, “this is what Chianti should taste like, with plenty of dark cherry and floral aromas and flavors that say Sangiovese. Fresh and fruity.”
They rated it 90 points and the 2007 vintage was also chosen for the Wine Spectator Top 100 List, claiming the 47th spot and representing one of the absolute best bargains. Castello d’Albola, pictured above, is located just outside the town of Radda in Chianti, in the very heart of the Chianti Classico area.
Several Enotecas are located in Radda, pouring samples of many of the famous local wines for a nominal charge. Radda is a must see stop in Tuscany, located on an imposing hill top and surrounded by a stunning panorama of vineyards as far as one can see. Choose your favorite wine, grab some local cheese and salami, and sit on the wall on the edge of town enjoying the view. There are few better ways to spend the afternoon!
Castello d’Albola Chianti Classico is featured at Siena for $8.50 per glass or $34 a bottle, a terrific value!
